Welcome to the AhrSteig

The AhrSteig trail, with its approximately 100 kilometres, leads from the source of the Ahr to its estuary.
The AhrSteig is not only a challenging hiking trail, it also inspires with its natural diversity,
and the wealth of natural monuments and cultural treasures along the way. Impressive views of the romantic Ahr valley and far beyond the heights of the Ahr distinguish the unique paths of the Ahr Trail. Idyllic forest paths and quiet meadow paths are juxtaposed with gentle plateaus and narrow rocky paths, lonely plateaus alternate with lively wine villages.

During the floods, some passages along the banks of the Ahr were destroyed. Through repairs and also rerouting along other attractive stretches of path, the AhrSteig is now hikable again without interruption. At present, however, only a few restaurants and hosts are available for overnight stays along the trail. The destroyed businesses are working flat out to soon be able to welcome nature lovers and hikers again.

Surefootedness and sturdy shoes are required!
